Taupe and Teal Eyemakeup Tutorial

Hope you like this step by step tutorial using all L'Oreal Paris Malaysia makeup range.

1. Tape a strapping tape at the end of the eye, I am using a strapping tape which I bought from Daiso, love it as it is very gentle and will not ruin your base makeup or pull your skin.

2. Apply a taupe or light brown transition colour onto the eye lid higher towards the crease and blend it lightly. This will make your blending of other colours easier. You can use 12 Chocolate Lover palette colour - B which is a 2nd lightest brown from the palette to do this.

3. Using the darkest brown from 12 Chocolate Lover palette - C, apply it at the outer V corner as well as inner V corner of the eye, this will give your eye more depth and dimension.

4. Using the Gelmatic Pen in 03 -which is apply it at the center of the eyelid to notnonly brighten up the look but also to create a base for the shimmery colour we are going to use later.

5. Taking the lightest shade fro. 12 Chocolate Lover palette - D, dab it on your eyelid slowly, you can use your finger to dab the color for higher intensity.
6. Next, taking the Gelmatic Pen in 06 - Teal, underline the lower lash line to give your eye a colour pop. This will also brighten your eye and giving it a  trendy total look.

7. Line your eyes and apply mascara. I am using  L'Oréal  False Lash Butterfly Waterproof Mascara as I love how it seperates my tiny little lashes.

8. This is an option, you can skip this or complete the look with false lashes 😊 i love false lashes because my eye lashes are really thin and little, they are somehow lacking in nutrients haha 😂😂 and i don't know why 😅.

I hope you like this kind of tutorial, do let me know what is your opinion on this, if you love it, I will do more.

Thank you and love u!

Massage - HealthLand Review

Hmm... thinking of having a massage always gave me a sense of joy and relaxation...

Lately, I have been hunting for a good yet reasonable massage place. I have been getting numbness in my legs quite often and stiff shoulder, I think mainly because I had poor blood circulation and stressful schedule. I used to patron Thai Odyssey until their price kept increasing and I thought it is time to stop visiting for now.

I did a hunt and found a Thai Massage branch which has good review and reasonable price, "Heathland", I was also attracted to Jojo Struys advertisement that she did for "Healthland", mainly to also reconfirmed that the massage center is "proper" if you know what I meant.

And, I visited the place on a random Saturday with a friend, stepping into the place does reminds me of “ThaiOdyssey”, but looking at the prices, it is slightly lower than what “Thai Odyssey” is charging, which is great to me because that is what I am looking for.

I decided to try their “Thai Oil Treatment” at RM78 for 60 minutes and my friend, foot massage at RM 58 for 60 minutes. I chose oil treatment because I do not like traditional Thai Massage techniques where the masseuse will use press pressure technique, I prefer stroking and push technique.

As a standard practice, we were serve some tea before starting, but what surprise is, it was a ice cold pandan tea instead of a hot one, but it was nothing bad about it, just different. We were then invited to wash and have our feet scrub before our massage start. I was lead into a private massage area where I need to change.

Having my Feet wash- "Happy Feet" :)

I must say the whole experience was not too bad. I wouldn’t say they are very good, but compare to “Thai Odyssey” I think I like “Healthland” more due to it’s price and the masseuse are up to standard too.

Two weeks later, I brought my mom along again, and this time to try their foot massage since, I had a good experience with my masseuse, her technique and pressure was just right. Her name was “Milk” number “20”, my mom did not have a good experience with hers as her masseuse was to soft and did not do much to make her feel any difference, will definitely not go for her then, her number was “27”.

This is my review for my visit to “Healthland”, if you visited any good massage center in Petaling Jaya with reasonable price do share with me, so I can gave it a try too!

Ps: They do have Happy Hour Promotion on Weekdays, do give them a call before you go!

Thank you for reading! :)

Facial at Herbaline

Lately, my skin has been really dry and dull resulted from a mask allergy which I had earlier this year. >.<

Sadly, I am allergic to Cocao Butter and Ginseng L . Moisturizer does not seem to absorb well due to its bad condition, hence I have been dying to go for a facial for a dead skin removal and to deep cleanse my pores.

I remembered a friend of mine mentioned about “Herbaline”, she had a pleasant experience sometime back in makeup school, so I was thinking, why not try Google-ing and find out more about it? To my pleasant surprise, I found many good reviews about them, so I decided why not give it a try!

I make an appointment for today after work at their SS2 Petaling Jaya, Branch. Upon reaching, I was greeted by a well-mannered guard; he was directing and helping me on where to park my car. He guided me into the premise, and gosh, I found the atmosphere there was really relaxing and beautifully decorated. Out of the sudden, I had a feeling of stepping into Cludmed Cherating Resort, I’m in love!

I was attended by their Beautician and requested to fill in form of my particulars and leaded into an area to have my feet cleaned and wash. It was so relaxing! J This is life! *smiling big at happily in my heart!

Washing my feet soaked in Sea salt

I was lead into a room where I has my facial done, the whole experience was awesome! I felt so relaxed and the skilled of their beauticians are really professional. My beautician explained to me step-by-step on what she is going to do and the result of it. The package also comes with a complimentary head and shoulder massage and a fish spa!

Fish Spa

I did oil cyst / syringoma removal on top of my package, as those little bumpy skin on my face really annoyed me when I put on makeup. It cost me RM 100 for 7 cyst/ syringoma  removal, I did not go for more because I wanted to give it a try first, as it actually take 1-3 weeks for recovery and hopefully no scar. But I am so looking for it for the recovery!

This is my face the next day after my facial, makeup free on my skin only suncreen, you can still see my scar, but my skin feels really supple and look glowing after the treatment.

Can you see the healing scar?

Overall, I had a pleasant experience; I definitely will visit them again!

Facial : RM 85
Ee Treament : RM 100 for 7 oil cyst / syringoma

Do share with me your experience too! Thank you for visiting my blog!

Creating the Perfect Canvas

I always believe properly moisturized and glowing skin is the first step to creating the perfect canvas for makeup.

I don’t mean that you must have tofu eggshell like skin texture, zero pores with no zits, but properly moisturized, hydrated healthy skin will definitely helps makeup to last longer and give a radiant glow to the total look.

When I first started off as a makeup student, I had really dry and sensitive skin. Even though to many my skin looks rather normal, I have difficulty putting on makeup due to sensitive skin and dryness. My makeup would look dull and uneven, it somehow look like mask than a makeup.  And removing makeup will be painful due to sensitive skin. This is when I realized the importance of skin care and the correct techniques used to beautiful healthy skin.

Step 1: Cleansing
Proper cleansing of face is the key to beautiful healthy skin. Why is cleaning so important?

Pollution and Dust
Pollution and dust collected on face throughout the days is bad for our skin. The collected pollution and dust is full of harmful bacteria that can easily cause breakouts and other skin problems. The condition is far worse for people with oily skin, therefore I always recommend my client to lightly powder their face if their planning to go out anywhere even though they do not want to have any makeup, this will minimize dust or any other small particles from sticking onto our face causing unwanted skin problems

Wearing Makeup
It is a must for makeup to be removed every day.  Makeup or any other form of skin care eg. Sun block can function as a protective layer to our skin during the days can also turn harmful if it’s not properly removed and cleanse. Like our bare skin surface, makeup collects dust and bacteria too, hence, if you do not remove it or properly remove it,   it will just be like wearing a mask full of dust and bacteria to bed every day. Also, some makeup such as foundation, primer or sun block may block our skin from breathing freely; hence, wearing it a long time is bad for skin and again causes breakouts and creating black/whiteheads.

I recommend using lotion or oil base makeup remover instead of makeup remover wipes. As both lotion and oil base remover creates less friction on the skin surface. Wipes should only be use in a less convenient situation when you do not have the facility to properly clean your face like on a plane or while travelling. Too much friction will cause thinning of skin resulting in sensitive skin.

Step 2: Toning
Most people skip this process as we do not understand what it does. It is necessary? Does it cleanse your face? But you used a cleanser.  I used to skip this step too as I too do not know why we need to tone.

Why do we need to tone?
Restoring skin natural pH balance is the first and most important job of toner. While water can have a pH balance as high as 9.5 depending on where you live and how hard the water is, our skin pH balance is at 5.5. After washing and cleansing, skin pH balance is completely distorted and our skin will take a half an hour to one to restore its pH. Using toner helps restoring pH instantly and prepares our skin for better absorption of moisturizer. It is like the primer for moisturizer.
Depending on skin, some toners clarify and exfoliate skin, it further cleanse the skin by removing oil and dead skin cells. If you have very oily skin, you may want to opt to try toner of such range, however, try to go for alcohol free toner as alcohol can cause over-drying and there is a possibility to cause more break-outs. Different skins react differently though, so it is important to stick with a regime for a couple of weeks before you can tell whether a particular product suits your skin or not. It is recommended to use facial cotton to apply exfoliating toner

If your skin is normal to dry, go for a toner that does not exfoliate but also hydrates and moisturize. For toner that does not exfoliate but moisturized, it is recommended to apply it without a cotton but spray or apply by hand and pat gently till the toner absord.

Step 3: Essence / Serum
After toner, you may opt to apply a light layer of essence or serum before moisturizer. Depending on individual, this step can be skipped.
Essentially, at its base, essence or serum are is a highly concentrated skin care product similar to a moisturizer; however they tend to have smaller compact particles and are lighter than traditional moisturizers. This allows them to get absorbed faster and more effectively into the skin. They also get absorbed deeper into the skin allowing more effective cell regeneration and reproduction. The most common ingredients in any serum brands are Retinol, Peptides, Collagen, Plant extracts, synthetic extracts, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and Whitening compounds. It is normally designed to treat specific skin problems from oil control to skin whitening to hydration.

Step 4: Moisturizer
After cleansing and toning, we must moisturize. This step should NOT be avoided, even if you have an oily skin type. It is very important to choose the right formula for your skin type.
There are tons of moisturizer products to choose from, such as gels (best for oily/acne prone skin), creams (best for dry/sensitive skin) and serums (best for normal/oily skin). Some provide anti-blemish action, some are anti-wrinkle, some contain fake tan, and some simply moisturize.
After toner and serum has been fully absorbed, apply a small blob of moisturizer, gently massaging in a circular motion into your face and neck. It is important not to leave the neck area out as saggy skin and aging line are the first to appear around the neck area.

Eye cream
It is a good practice to use a separate eye-cream on the eye area as skin around the eyes is very delicate and normal moisturizer may not be suitable. Using the right eye cream you can prevent puffy eyes, dark eye circles as well as skin aging.

Lip
After moisturizing the eye and the face area, don’t forget to dab on a little lips moisturizer. This can help to minimize the lines on the lips area as well as keeping your lips moisturize and prevent it from chapping.

Step 5
Finish up the look with a face mist or spring water to lock in the moisturizer.

Wishing you a beautiful, happy skin!

Organic Apple Cider Vinegar anyone?

Hands up for those who wants a sip!^___^ V

Lately, my weight has been going uphill (way viral!!), I am not sure whether is this an age thing, but it really gets on my nerves when I do not fit in most of my working pants (non- elastic ones) especially when you are rushing your heads of early in the morning to work and? “STUCK” it wouldn’t zip on!

Show me a hand which of you has the same experience as me? It did feel awful didn’t it?

This one fine day when I walk in the local pharmacy, I found this “Apple Cider Vinegar” and it’s on promotion- Buy 2 free 1. Hooola! A good deal !!! I thought let’s get one to try and probably give the two away as gift since I heard wonders about this product. Also, I have actually tried apple cider vinegar + honey in an organic restaurant sometime back and it tasted superb!

Being curious as a cat as always, I did some research on the WWW and here is what I found, I hope I can share this fun yet interesting information with you!

1. Increases Metabolism/ Energy
  • Apple Cider Vinegar increases/ speeds up one metabolism rate due to it’s acidic nature as well as it contains Vitamin B6 and Lecithin. Which means? You eat a little more or the same, but you get to control your weight!
2. It helps Constipation
  • I truly agreed with this. After drinking Apple Cider Vinegar, I notice I have been going to the loo more often and easily, flushing out toxin from my body, it’s definitely not diarrhea, but a healthy yet painless way of toxin flushing you know what I meant haha.
3. Cure Acne and Clearer skins
  • Numerous reports/forums/ discussion actually claims that after taking Apple Cider Vinegar they see healthy looking skin with less breakout. I can’t claim that this is 100% true and work as I myself do not have breakout (I am far from being a teenager) hence, I will not be able to say yes on this. However, I do think it make sense as flushing out toxin from the body do actually has a relation in reducing breakouts.

4. Weight Loss
  • Many claims that Apple Cider Vinegar has actually help them in reducing weight without changing their daily diet except by taking in an extra cup of Apple Cider Vinegar mixed. Since it helps with constipation and increases metabolism, this is definitely logical. Apple Cider Vinegar helps break down fat, controls blood sugar levels and helps stabilize one appetite.

5. Reduces cholesterol and lower blood pressure
  • Apple Cider Vinegar contains pectin which helps to reduces cholesterol, lowers blood pressure. High in Potassium

6. Better teeth and hair and helps with Hangover
  • The potassium in Apple Cider Vinegar provides better hair, teeth and nails and prevents cramps.

  • Potassium plays an important role as an electrolyte in human body; hence, they are also good in helping hangover. ( I got to know about Potassium benefit from a Dr. friend of mine, she also mentioned that Bananas are good for hangover)

7. Prevent kidney stones and urinary tract infections

  •  It is also believe that Apple Cider Vinegar help cleanses the kidney and bladder and prevent both stones and urinary tract infection.

8. Alleviate join pain, arthritis and prevent osteoporosis

  • As it contains malic acid, Apple Cider Vinegar helps to alleviate join pain and arthritis as it eliminate excessive uric acid from our body.
  •  It also helps in preventing osteoporosis as it contains magnesium, silicon and calcium.

How to prepare?

For drinking:

Mixed two teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar with a full glass of water and drink them after each meal. You can also add a teaspoon of honey to make it taste nicer and use it as a healthy enzyme cocktail.

For external usage:
Mixed around 2 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar with 8000ml of water, use it to wash the affected area i.e face, skin, hair etc..

Tips: Choose the raw unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar which contains "Mother" (a sticky sediment) in them for better health benefit.

Caution: Do rinse your mouth after taking Vinegar drinks as they might erode your teeth enamel causing tooth decay.

I hope the above write-up will assist you in your weight control program or as a way to a healthier living! Hope you love it!!! Feed me/ share with everyone in the comment box if you have more information on this wonderful vinegar!

The above is a research I did on my own and written based on my understanding on Apple Cider Vinegar. I am not a Doctor nor any medical professional; hence, if you have any serious medical condition, I would advice you to seek advice from your doctor.

Nails of the Week : Turquoise Flower Nails

Hi Ladies ^_^  I am going to share with you my nails of the week!! I haven't got the time to do a tutorial as I am still pretty busy this CNY week. Relatives and friends just keep coming and coming and coming.

So yes, this is my nail of the week! I painted it with Turquoise color which I bought few days back from Elianto and draw on little flowers with my acrylic paint, Was easy and fast. Need to be a little careful with the painting as I am right handed, I can't actually piant my right nails properly and shaking haha...

Oh ya, I got some candy from "Sticky". This one is BlueBerry Rocks. Erm.. this taste so so. I love their watermelon ones, darn, I didn't get the watermelon one that day because the pattern was not cute, now I am thinking of it every time I pop in the blue berries one in my mouth. Well, the blueberry one ain't that bad just that the watermelon ones taste better =P

I got this jar of 120GM for RM 13.90, my sis said I was crazy to pay so much for sugar that makes me fat and unhealthy haha.. oh well, I'm a sweet tooth and this candy brings back memory of me living in England when I was a little girl, so sort of you know the "Nostalgic" thingy happening in me when I tasted it *winks*

Alright go to go now. Thanks for following and reading. I always appreciates there is someone reading my post, even though  don't have huge audience :)

Tutorial ~*Golden Black NET French Tip*~

Hi Ladies, Happy Spring Festival to u ^_^ & Happy Valentine's Day!!

I just wanna share with you what I have came up with for my Chinese New Year Nails to usher the year of Tiger. ^_^

I called it the " Black Net French Tip"

Tadaa.......Nice? I just think they look sexy like a roaring "tiger" haha

I use the combination of "Gold" and "Black" as it's the year of Golden Tiger and tiger has black stripes on them, so I thought the just go pretty well.

This time. I use a little more tools to assist me to get the look... this is how I do it... ^_^

 1. I used
  • Konad Stamping kit with M57 stamping plate.
  • OPI - Start to Finish Top & Base coat.
  • Elianto- in Twilight Zone-Black Nail Color
  • 火烈鸟 nail polish- in Gold1727. << I got this from The Curve, the stall beside Nokia and the money changer in ground floor.Real inexpensive but the result is superb. I love the gold color so so much. If you do not have this and not know where to get them. just replace with any gold color you have in hand. They will work equally well.
  • Vi-Ya nail art brush- Use any thin nail art brush to assist you in drawing your french tip- this is optional.

2. Apply both base coat and brush on the gold nail polish. Let it dry for 5 minutes.

3. Use the M57 stamping plate, "net" design, brush on some black polish and scrap off the excess, then stamp them on your nails. Do this to all your nails, be real careful as this can be very very messy.

4. Brush on a black color on the very tip of your nails, if you are not good at doing this, you may try doing this with a thin nail brush. If you do not want to invest money on this, just get any thin art brush brush you have in high school, make sure the bristle are smooth, then they are good for the project ^_^

5. Lastly, wait till everything dry for 10-15minutes, since we are playing with black, it is important to make sure everything dries up really well before apply on a thin top coat base.

Now, let me show what I did for my toe nails. I use the same top and base coat for my hand nails and use back the same gold nail color, the difference is I use Acrylic paint to draw on a flower on them.

This is the Acrylic Nail color and same the same thin nail art bush to draw the tiny flower and painted them. I bought this Acrylic paint at the Curve, the stall beside Nokia and the Monay Changer at Ground Floor for RM 30 only, inexpensive and fun!!
This is my toe nail of the week!!! How do you like them? I still think they are not striking enough hehe.. oh well..

Hope you like this tutorial and sharing, Have a Superb Luna New Year and Valentine's Day!!

Tutorial ~*Pink Lacey Nails*~

Tadaa.....JamZ-T Pink Lacey Nails

Hi Ladies, I have just came out with a pink lacey nails in conjuction of both Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year celebration, I think they will do just wonderful ^-^
How do you like them?

You can always change the color and pattern based on you preference, this is just what I have experimented with my Konad's stamping plate. I love them!!

1. First of  all, I get my nails painted in pink, don't forget to apply a thin layer of base coat before topping your nail color. ( I am using Etude House Petit Darling Nails in PK009, its a pretty Barbie pink color, as for my base coat, I picked OPI Start to Finish Base & Top Coat)
2. Next get your Konad's stamping kit ready with your selected stamping plate, for this look I choose M57 stamping plate. ( You can get this Konad's stamping kit at Etude House if you are in Malaysia, they are relatively inexpensive, ranging from RM10 -RM30 depending on what you getting)

3. Select the color you want to be stamped on your nails. For this look, I chose black. (I am using Elainto Nail Color- Twilight Zone) (Tips: For effective stamping effect please use matte color and avoid shimmery colors)

 4. With your stamping plate M57, select a lacey pattern.

5. Brush on some nail color on the selected design.

6. Scrap off the excess nail color with the scraper.

7. Using the stamping tool, stamp on your design as soon as you scrap the excess nail color to avoid the color on the stamping plate dries up. ( I highly advice you to play and practice before starting your project)

8. Using a rolling motion as per the above picture, stamp the pattern on from left to right when you stamping you right finger nails and right to left when your stamping your left finger nails. It is okay if the is excessive color touching your skin. You can easily clean them off with a cotton bud later.

9. To get my nail design, I actually stamp two/three lacey pattern on my nails (depending on the size) by row to get the full lacey nail look effect.

10. You can see picture 9 and 10 difference. With one and with two lacey image on. It's ok to have it a little messy for first few attempts, but you will get better once you practice more often.

11. I also spray on Kate Nail Color Dry to expedite the drying process. I think I got this for RM19.90 from Watson ( Not sure whether are they on discount at the time of purchase) I think they are pretty effective in drying up my nails and I love it so much since I do not need to wait for my nails to dry.

Lastly, my advice?

i. Do practice more with the stamping kit

ii. This is a very messy project, especially if you are attempting to use black, remember to always cover your working area with papers, set a side a tiny cup of nail polish remover, cotton, cotton bud in-case you make any mess.

Hope you enjoy the look!!!!!

Have a Happy Chinese New Year to those who celebrates it and Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!

Have a loving week ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Till then XOXO from JamZ-T
